Ambassador’s Welcome message

Thank you for visiting the website of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Riyadh. At the outset, let me express my deep reverence to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under whose visionary leadership we got our independence in 1971 and my profound gratitude to His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continued support to Bangladesh. On behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh, I would also like to convey my heartiest felicitations and warm greetings to the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  It is indeed my great pleasure and a badge of honour to assume the charge of ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom. The bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia has been strengthened in recent years under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and King Salman bin Abdulaziz. Being the host of the two holy mosques- Makkah and Madinah, Saudi Arabia has always been very special to the foreign policy and the people of Bangladesh. The Kingdom has ensured the employment of more than 2.28 million Bangladesh nationals. Endowed with principle of sustainable bonding between the two peoples under the umbrella of Muslim fraternity, our prime minister’s successive visits to KSA added impetus to the expansion of bilateral relations to a new height. The political, economic, trade, manpower and defense cooperation have been strengthened between the two friendly countries in last few years because of the consistent efforts of our two leaders. To further strengthen this momentum and improve investment and trade relations, I intend to work actively with the Government of the Kingdom as well as the country’s private sector. I wish to establish Bangladesh as the favoured destination for the Saudi investments and also as a trusted brand for recruiting Bangladeshi skilled and semi-skilled workers in realization of Bangladesh vision 2041 and Saudi vision 2030.

I also take the opportunity to congratulate Bangladesh nationals living in the Kingdom for their immense and laudable contribution for the development of both Bangladesh and the Kingdom. Since the Embassy also serves as the non-resident Bangladesh Mission to Djibouti, I would like to congratulate Bangladesh nationals living there. I will try my best to foster people-centric responsive diplomacy ensuring the wellbeing of the expatriate Bangladesh nationals. Towards that end, we will provide regular updates on various activities and functions organized by the Embassy, and the website will serve as an important medium to enhance communication and collaboration with the friendly nation and the Bangladesh community providing information on trade, investment, consular and welfare issues. The Embassy is also using its social media platform for the wide dissemination of important information whose links are accessible from this website also.

This Embassy is also accredited to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). As the Permanent Mission to the OIC, we attach great importance to the work of this organisation and actively participate in OIC’s endeavors to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among various peoples of the world.

The Embassy and I will remain committed to bring the Embassy and its services to the Bangladesh expatriates residing in Saudi Arabia and Djibouti. We will soon be undertaking several initiatives. We will count on the active engagement and participation of our Saudi friends and our community in all such endeavours. We welcome your suggestions and feedback on any of the services that we render. Please send your views, comments and feedback, if any, to us at: mission.riyadh@mofa.gov.bd

With warmest greetings,

Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwary, BPM (Bar)
 Ambassador
